Wend.gg is a free word puzzle. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to play. This page explains the small amount of data the game does use.
Data stored on your device
The game saves a few things in your browser's local storage so it can remember them between visits: your progress on today's Daily board and on your current Unlimited board, your statistics for each language and mode, your settings (dark mode), whether you have already been counted in today's player count, and the star rating you gave, if any. This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Player count, shares and ratings
When you solve your first board of the day in a language, the game adds one to an anonymous daily counter. When you rate the game it adds one to the counter for that star value, and when you press a share button it adds one to a share counter. These counters are hosted by the free Abacus counting service (abacus.jasoncameron.dev). Only the counter is increased: no identifier, account or game content is sent with it, although, like any web request, the service can see your IP address and browser type.
Puzzle files
The boards are downloaded as plain files from our content delivery network (xwmsys.b-cdn.net). These requests contain no personal data.
Analytics and server logs
We may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views. Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery providers keep short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, requested page and time) for security and to keep the site running.
Fonts and flags
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and language flags from flagcdn.com. These providers receive your IP address when your browser downloads the files.
Cookies and advertising
The game itself does not set cookies and does not show advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it happens.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Clearing your browser's site data for wend.gg removes everything the game has stored.
